Need Good Ideas for X-mas gifts for my baby who will be 10 months old.?
being my babys first x mas i want to shower my baby with a plethora of gifts that she will enjoy! what are great toys for infants. Also she shows an intrest in computers… Need educational toys also. Give me some good educational toy advice. thanks
Baby like things that are bright colorful and make noise… What you can buy your baby is: a new thing for keyboards. You put it on the computers keyboard, and allow baby to press it. Its for babys 9 months and up. you can check your local babies r us, or k mart, target and stores such as that. They have plenty of nice toys for babys. Babys at this age are fasinated with things that make noise and are bright in color.
Dont worry about getting the most expensive gifts because your child will not remember her first x mas any ways. so try to take it easy and get her things to allow her ot have fun.

What can I give the dad-to-be at a couples baby shower?
I’m throwing a baby shower for my brother and his wife. It’s a couples shower. I’m buying some lotions and stuff for the mom-to-be from burts bees baby line, since I know she’d like it. But I would like to get my brother something too, that he will appreciate. I don’t want it to be something really expensive because we are already spending a lot on the shower. Does anyone have any suggestions?
And just some additional info: They are not registering anywhere so I can’t just pick something off their list. And they’ve asked that no one buy them blankets, clothes, or soft toys, etc. (Long story) They also want to pick out their own crib, carseat, moniters, etc etc. So I’m looking for something kind of unique that would be more appreciated by dad than mom.

To answer a few questions: They are not going to find out the sex of the baby and it is their first.
My husband (a new dad) received the book Be Prepared: A Practical Handbook for New Dads by Gary Greenburg. It’s a useful and humorous book. He’s enjoyed reading it, so I would recommend it or a similar daddy guidebook.
Another suggestion, a children’s book (or books) that your brother enjoyed. That way, he can read it to the new baby.

How concerned should you be bringing your baby to playdates where all the kids share toys?
and put the toys in their mouths? i dont want to be over paranoid and shelter him but I’m just grossed out. and how do you handle other kids taking your babies toys..and dont want to seem selfish but I’m afraid I won’t see them again
he is 8 months old
This is kind of a tough question since you definitely don’t want to offend the other parent(s), with whom you setup the playdates with.
I’m not sure about just how bad it is bacteria-wise, but the best thing I can say is to clean the toys before & after use.
Try bringing toys that aren’t furry or soft, as these things would probably collect more saliva and schmutz on them.
Perhaps plastic toys would help?

Looking for the best infant toys for development from newborn to 1 year- Any suggestions??
My baby girl is almost 2 months – i need something to occupy her later on – some kind of activity play center toy – something great with lights and music _ I’ve been window shopping and dont see much that i like – What do you parents out there recommend -What toys does your baby like??
What about activity mats or something that will promote sitting up and crawling??
And also looking for toys I can attatch to her swing (since her swing does not play music or have lights- a toy with light & music thats attatchble – where can I find one??
My kids LOVED the peek-a-boo blocks from Fisher Price. It is also good for development for them to learn how to put things in and take things out. They have a shape sorter from peek-a-boo blocks. It has different shapes and each block has something new inside. There are SO many different accessories that you can get with the Peek-a-boo blocks. toysrus.com has a great way to select that type of thing. You select the age, and then you select the type of toys. You want to find cause and effect toys, early development, and sights and sounds. You can look at all those categories there, or just type whatever type of toy into a search engine and it should pull up some options.

how do you clean infant toys?
warm soapy water or the dishwasher if cloth the washer and dryer. Do not use bleach or lysol, remember it will be going in your baby’s mouth from time to time and then it would get in their system. Just warm soapy water. To sanitize you can put one tablespoon bleach to one quart of water or 1/4 cup to one gallon and rise after with water.and towel dry.
