Halloween 2010 is only a few weeks away on Sunday October 31 and its time to think about Halloween costume ideas again.

Don’t panic. I have listed a few Halloween costume ideas that will help you to decide what you will wear this year.

Witches

This is the classic Halloween kit. When we think of Halloween the first thing that usually comes to mind are witches. Most girls that I have seen trick and treating usually go for the witches outfit.

It’s very easy to make a witches costume yourself, or most costume hire shops have them available. However, you better book it now otherwise they will be all booked out (if not already) by the time Halloween comes around.

Another alternative is to buy a witches costume which are available at a very affordable price online.

Vampires

With TV shows and movies about vampires doing so well I’m sure more and more people will be looking for vampire customes. This is one type of costume that can be worn by both males and females.

You could go for a more classic look like Count or Countess Dracula. Or an easier option is a character from Twilight or The Vampire Diaries. Just wear dark or black clothing and apply makeup to make you look very pale with dark eyes and red lips. A set of fangs and fake blood oozing from the corner fo your mouth makes a very impressive sight.

Zombies

Its a whole lot of fun dressing up and applying makeup to be one of the living dead. Zombies are rotting corpses that are still running around wanting to eat your brains.

So gruesome makeup and torn clothing is all you need. For makeup, color your skin a very pale colour. White or brown/green for a nasty rotten effect. Yellow or darken teeth, dark circles around the eyes, and you’re set to go.

Werewolves

Whether Halloween falls on a full moon or not, a werewolf custome is very effective. However, unless you are very hirsute, it will require to wear a werewolf mask and maybe a full werewolf outfit for best effect.

The minimum would be a werewolf mask. You could wear normal clothing to save hiring or buying a full outfit. With clothing, if you can get a pair of werewolf gloves as well you will scare the wits out of all of your neighbours.

Horror Movie Characters

There is a long list of Halloween costume ideas from evil characters in horror movies. Freddie Kreuger, Jason, any of the cast of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Or how about TV horror families like The Munsters and The Addams Family?

Many fancy dress outlets have outfits for these horror characters based on these popular TV shows and movies.

Monsters

Any ugly or hideous creature that comes to mind. They can be complete outfits or monsters in normal clothing or other costumes. For example, a hideous green monster in a soldier’s uniform. With monsters you can mix and match to your hearts desire. As in most cases you will be creating your own unique monster Halloween costume.

So let your imagine run wild and you will have your trick and treatees running wildly for their lives this Halloween. After leaving a nice treat for you of course.
